Starting Your Journey At TLKGO

Now like many RP forums out there, no matter how simple they try to make it, there will always be area's that are complicated, and could potentially put you off. Here at TLKGO we aim to make your RP experience fun and comfortable with as less confusion as possible, so we have tried to explain everything as detailed...but as easily as possible. We have all this in just 2 sections that you will find very useful if you read them, it answers many frequant questions that are asked and covers quite a few complications we have had in the past. Any Furthur Questions, please do not hesitate to ask any member of staff on the forum. ^^

Section 1 - The Rules

*General*

-No Bad Language

-Double posts are ok, only if important, or if significant.

-No Insulting other members

-*Please look at existing threads before making your own, the thread or similar thread may already exist

- *Signatures have to be no bigger than 500x200. Multiple Images allowed but only can go up to 500x200 In Total this is plus no More Than 5 Lines of Text With Images and no more than 15 Lines Without Images. All This Is due to This Being a RP Forum, RP Posts are alot easier To Read without Big Signatures.

-Avatars no bigger than 100x100, (this is a automated restriction).

-*No Chat speak like "fing", "ppl", "cya" etc. Please use correct spellings. This is because for some members, English is not their first language so they may have trouble reading posts that contain slang.

-If you are changing your user name, please notify Any of the Mods first as we get confused in who is who, and please don't keep changing your name.

-*1 *Any spamming on the board (off topic posts, triple posts etc), or any other rule breaking, you will given a warning, a repeated offense (in a reasonable time period) and it will be discussed with Moderators if you should be suspended for a while. If You Repeat a offense it will be discussed with Moderators if you should be banned. We may make exceptions on all of this matter in this Rule depending on the Seriousness of the situation.

-PLEASE Do Not use any Artwork In your avatar or signature that doesn't belong to you, unless i have written permission via Email From the Artist for you to use it.

PLEASE NOTE - A BAN MEANS WE BLOCK YOUR IP ADDRESSES FROM ACCESSING THIS SITE. MEANING THE COMPUTER IS BANNED FROM THE WEBSITE, SO ANY OTHER ACCOUNTS ON THAT SAME COMPUTER WILL ALSO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE SITE!!!

*Role Play*

-Each RP story Has a maximum number of characters which is stated by the Creator of the RP. The Per Character per person is always 2.
-*Switching between different characters in RP (you kill off one of your characters and replace him/her with another) is only allowed twice.

-No Sexual Posts, but Flirting, kissing etc are allowed.

-When you sign up a character, that includes any age, so say if you got Nala, you are are nala whether she is adult, cub or adolescent and that counts as one character.

-Deaths are allowed. But please Use your own judgment in if you really want to kill of one of your characters in the rp, Remember character switching is only allowed twice (refer to *1)

-Please no 2 worded posts etc, make it at least or just under a line of text, if you are really struggling though on a certain occasion, that is fine, i just don't want people making very short sentenced RP posts all the time.

-Controlling other people's characters is not allowed at all. The only exception to this case is if and only IF the owner of that character has given you permission. Otherwise , you should not in any way control another persons' character physically or mentally.

-What is known as "GodModding" is not allowed in the RPs of the forum. If you don't know what "GodModding" is, look at this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godmoding

These rules may seem harsh, but its for the comfort for everyone to have a nice experience in role playing, Discussion and having fun at TLKGO

Section 2 - Getting Started

How to become a TLKGO RolePlayer in 5 easy steps!

Step 1:

Read The Rules. (Though I'm sure that you already have )

Step 2 :

Choose your category. There are 3 RP-boards on TLKGO, all with different themes:

Do you want to meet the characters from Disney's masterpiece for which we're all here? Or do you want to make up your own original character and interact with other peoples originals? Or perhaps you want your character to interact and make friends (or enemies) with Simba and the others while exploring the Pride Lands, the mysterious Outlands or even the Elephant Graveyard?

Then Come To "The Mane Roleplays"

Are you more a magician type? Do you want to unleash incredible powers and forces together with others?

Then "Magic Revealed" is something for you!
**********************************************************

Are you an active RPer who perfers to have speed and less time to wait in your games?

I recommend Stampede Stories for you!

Note - This board has special rules and is unique on the forum however, so be sure you check every thread before you dive in!

If you can't choose only one category you can join them all!

Step 3:

Sign up your character. This is a very important step - if you do not post your character's profile you will not be allowed to join any of the RPs. The Character Database is the place to do it, and you choose category depending on your character (Original, Canon, Fantasy). If you are unfamiliar with this kind of sign-up there are threads in each board that explain further how to post your profile if you need guidance.

Step 4:

Find a RolePlay! This is where the fun begins! Now that you've signed up your character you are ready to join the action. Have a look around at the existing RPs and see if any of them appeals to you. As long as they are not marked "Full" you can request to join in the RPs Character Sign Up thread and once you're accepted you're ready to roll!
Or, if you don't find anything that tickles your fancy, you can always suggest something new...! (Look at "Submit A RP Idea" in any Catagory)

Step 5: Start Posting! There's not much I need to explain here, is there? If you're new to RolePlaying, there are plenty of help and advice to find in the "Hints and Tips"-section!
