Season 1 Week 4 Good evening everyone, and it’s time once again for the weekly-wrap up of Who Wants To Be King of the Pride Lands! For those that couldn’t make it, I must say you missed quite an exciting show. To start it off, we had a newcomer, Monai, win big on his very first trip to the hot seat, which he earned on his very first attempt at a “Fastest Finger” question! Tim: If everyone’s ready, here is the first fastest finger question of the day, good luck to all of you! Fastest Finger Put the following events from the “Hakuna Matata” scene in TLK in chronological sequence, starting with the earliest: A: Timon files down Simba’s claw Audra: DADB The correct order was indeed A, D, B, C and Monai became our first player of the day! He also earns the distinction of being the youngest contestant ever on WWTBKOTPL, at the ripe old age of twelve, but once again he proved that age doesn’t matter by swiftly climbing up the money ladder. Soon he was staring down the $32,000 with 2 of his lifelines still intact, his 50:50 and “Phone-A-Friend”. $32,000 monaithemaniac: i'm gonna have to phone a friend, mainly
cuz i've never had the money to see it XD Audra: It's B Unfortunately, Monai busted out on the next question about what object was being sold on the QVC shopping network in TLK 1 ½, which was a leather purse. But all in all, a fantastic run by Monai who left the studio with $32,000! Nice going! But we still had an eager bunch ready to play, so we moved right along to the next FF question: Fastest Finger Put the following Zazu lines from TLK in the order they appear in the film, starting with the earliest: A: “He’d make a very handsome throw rug” dinosaurgirl85: ACDB <6.7 seconds> In one of the closest Fastest Finger showdowns we’ve seen here on the show, Audra snuck by Lucy by only one tenth of a second! It was as if the answers came up simultaneously, bad break for Lucy there. So by now Audra could dub herself “The Queen of the Hot Seat” as this was her record-breaking FOURTH appearance on the show in FIVE weeks! As usual, she breezed through her questions, and was looking at the $32,000 with all of her lifelines in her possession. Let’s cut to the action and see how it turned out! Tim: Wow, Audra, great decision there to go with your
gut and not use the 50:50 there, you’re now going for $32,000
with all of your lifelines, and remember if you get this right you’re
guaranteed to leave with at least $32,000. Good luck! A: Majestic ‘Fu: This one’s tough, can I poll the herd? A: 0% B: 20% C: 60% D: 20% ‘Fu: Hmm... I was thinking it was D too Oh the beauty of the “Poll the Herd” lifeline! That’s how it’s supposed to work, and it sure worked wonders for Audra in securing her $32,000. Oh, but she was FAR from finished! Up to $125,000 we go, and she STILL has two lifelines, her 50/50 and Phone A Friend. $125,000 A: Monty Python’s Spamalot Fu: Oh wow =/ Fu: Do you have any idea? XD But another heartbreak befell Audra on the $250,000 question, as she incorrectly stated that the Lion King film brought in $30.9 million in its opening weekend, as the correct answer was $40.9 million. Particularly distressing was the fact that she still had her 50:50 lifeline on the table, but decided it was worth the risk to save it for the last couple questions, but unfortunately it didn’t work out. But she still left with another $32,000 and is now in second place all time for the moment! Congrats, ‘Fu! That left us time for the last Fastest Finger question of the day, and here it was: Fastest Finger Put the following voice actors from TLK in the order their characters appear in the film, starting with the earliest: A: Jeremy Irons Lucy: BACD Tim: I hate to break the news to ya, but NONE of you
are right! The correct order is BCAD. Madge Sinclair as Sarabi does
not speak, but she does appear right after Muf… Anyway, Stu was able to put his fingers on the replacement question, which regarded the order of the books in the boxed set of TLK: Six New Adventures. Eager to build on the $1,000 he earned in his first trip to the hot seat, Stu was ready for action! Tim: Stu, you’re doing as well as anyone has up
to this point. You’ve won $16,000 and are going for $32,000,
with ALL of your lifelines. If you get his question right, you’re
guaranteed $32K, but you do lose $15,000 if you get it wrong! $32,000 A: Shadowland Stu: 50/50 not sure A: Shadowland Stu: A Like Audra before her, Stu was just getting warmed up! After a fortunate guess at the $64,000 question about Lebo Morake’s home country (South Africa) and absolutely pwning my $125,000 stumper about the very first word that Nala says in TLK II: Simba’s Pride (“Mind,” as in “Mind your father, Kiara”), Stu all of a sudden was looking at a HUGE payday! $250,000 A: Tsidii Le Loka as Rafiki Stu: no damn idea....ask the herd A: 25% B: 75% C: 0% D: 0% Tim: There are the results. Remember Stu, if you are
wrong, you will LOSE $218,000, which already happened once today,
of course you can walk with your $125,000 as well or take a guess. Monai: Won $32,000 So what an incredible show we had today, with a couple players again making it into the big money with a legitimate chance to go all the way! The updated scoreboard is below. And yes I did promise to announce the prizes for the first player to reach $1,000,000 in career earnings, and I will do that tomorrow once I get the pictures uploaded to my computer. So stay tuned for that! So that’s all the time we have today, from the Studios here in Cyberspace, this is Tim Watanabe saying so long from Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands! See everyone next week! <applause> WWTBKOTPL Official Leaderboard and statistics (through 4 shows, number in ( )’s denotes appearances in the hot seat) 1st: STL $250,000 (1) Highest amount won in one show: STL ($250,000)
