Season 2 Week 11 Hello and welcome back everyone to the game review of Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands! We had yet another fantastic show today in this our 11th week of Season two, so let’s get down to it and find out where all the virtual money went today! <cue tape> We’re joined by players today that come from all
over the world, and they are: Lucy Parker, Birchington, Kent, England Here’s the first fastest finger question! Good luck. Put the following theme parks in the order that they opened to the public, starting with the earliest: A: Walt Disney World hope_pride: DACB Time is up, let’s see who could put the fingers to work the fastest: <B: Disneyland> simbathemighty: I knew Audra will get it And yes Audra, you got it in the fastest time! Congratulations and you’ll be our next player. <applause> Audra was currently in 3rd place in the overall standings, having earned a very impressive $239,000 in seven appearances out of ten weeks in Season two, and she could leapfrog Dani (Tiikeri) with a strong performance today. Let’s see how Audra fared today: <cue tape> Audra, you’re just breezing through these questions! You’ve now won $16,000 and if you get the next question right you’ll actually tie your own record twice of being the only player to reach the $32,000 level without using a lifeline! Audra: Ooh Here is the big one, for $32,000! $32,000 A: Blue Audra: GAH Okay she’s finally pulling out the lifelines, herd please PM me your vote now, as to what color butterfly came out of Pumbaa’s ear… A: 28% B: 42% C: 0% D: 28% Oh no, not too conclusive at all. B: Purple was out in front with 42% with Blue and Yellow trailing close behind. Doesn’t look like that helped much… Audra: Hmm wow... This is a very minute detail in the film Audra, not many people would remember this one… Audra: Yeah I don't either Okay computer, please take away two wrong answers, leaving Audra one wrong answer and the correct one: A: Blue Audra: x_x Yikes, it left you with the two answers tied at 28%, blue and yellow! Bad computer, sometimes the 50:50 helps and sometimes it doesn’t. 30 more seconds Audra, you still have your phone-a-friend. Audra: Wow Yes, that did eliminate the top answer, purple, sort of a lucky break for you. Audra: How much do I lose if I walk away? Well technically you don’t lose anything if you walk… Audra: I mean If you miss this one you lose $15,000 and drop all the way back down to $1,000, and we don’t want to see that happen to you! Audra: Um You can still call someone that might know TLK 1 ½ pretty well, maybe they can help? Audra: Yeah but... Um But Audra this is the $32,000 question, if you get there you will be guaranteed $32,000 and the Double Dip, I’d make every effort to get help on this question! Audra: Ok I'll call Dani then Audra: I would of called him anyways without him saying he thinks he knew it, because I know he watched it recently Okay you two 30 seconds and your time starts NOW! Dan: it's A - blue All right, well Dani says he’s pretty sure it’s blue. In case you don’t believe him or are still unsure, I’ll give you $16,000 to walk away right now, or you can go for it! 30 more seconds to decide: Audra: A Is that your final answer? Audra: Yes <lock-in A: Blue> drumroll… closeup of Audra <wrong answer music> OH NO! Audra everyone thought it was blue, but it was yellow. <D: Yellow> Audra: o_O I’m so sorry, you even used all of your lifelines on that one too, and you were playing so well! Another $1,000 today and if its any consolation that brings your grand total up to a nice round $240,000! Congratulations and we’ll see you again real soon. <applause> Audra: I used all my lifelines and lost! How embarassing XP <during the break we were joined by Amanda (Hasira_Kali) Season 1 winner of Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands of San Antonio, Texas> Here’s the next Fastest Finger: Put the following songs in the order they are on the CD “Rhythm of the Pride Lands,” starting with Track 1: A: Warthog Rhapsody simbathemighty: cbda I have no idea Let’s see if anyone got this one right: <D: He Lives in You> And yes it was Hope & Pride just edging out Nathalie the soundtrack freak there, way to go Hope & Pride! hope_pride: oh ya Ready to play for a million buddy? hope_pride: ready All right let’s play Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands with Hope & Pride! <cut> Hope & Pride was coming off an unbelievable performance on the last show as most of you saw winning $500,000, he could actually become the champion if he were to duplicate his feat from the last show or if he were to make it all the way, win a very nice additional prize package from the show as a bonus. Hope & Pride started off very well, breezing through the early part of the game before getting a little stuck on the $16,000 question. The audience failed Audra on the first go-round, would they be kinder to Hope & Pride? Watch and find out: Still have all of your lifelines, 7 away from the million, let’s play! $16,000 A: A branch Yeah, well we have a ton of people in this audience that have seen TLKOB, maybe you could call one of them or poll the entire herd, I’m sure they’d be able to help you out! hope_pride: ya Okay herd, please PM me your vote A B C or D, what does Timon drag out of the river? A: 28% B: 14% C: 68% D: 0% “Fish” is well ahead with 68% of the vote, “Branch” and “Flower” also got votes. What do you think, Hope & Pride? hope_pride: i thought its C too <lock-in C: A fish> <C: A fish> You just won $16,000! Great job Audience! <applause, cheers> <cut> Hope & Pride then aced the $32,000 question about the song “Warthog Rhapsody” as well as taking a big chance on the $64,000 question by guessing that Timon had called for “Ceviche” on the menu during the opening of TLK 1 ½ as opposed to “Souffle,” and soon our Israeli friend was staring at the BIG money for the second consecutive show, and at this point he was literally three questions away from becoming King of the Pride Lands! Watch the excitement brew: <audience cheering> WOW Hope & Pride took a chance on that one, and it paid off! How much we’ll find out soon enough. Let’s play for $125,000! $125,000 A: “Father and Son” <long pause> You have your phone-a-friend and your double dip left, you might as well call someone because once you select the Dip, you can’t use any more lifelines. hope_pride: ill phone a friend Ok, who’s the lucky one this time? hope_pride: lucy Lucy Parker, are you in the building? Lucy Parker: yeah Hope & Pride needs your help desperately on this one, he’s going for $125,000. You guys have 30 seconds, and your time starts now! <cue tick-tock> Lucy Parker: i dont know, i'm really really sorry Oh my, we haven’t had that happen in a long time… sorry. But that did create an interesting situation to say the least. You have only your double dip left, so if you decide to go for it you must answer both times as you know, so it will be either $125,000, or $32,000 should you miss on both your guesses. I’ll give you 30 seconds to decide, or I’ll let you walk with $64,000 right now if you wish. hope_pride: double dip He’s GOING FOR IT! <audience cheers> All-or-nothing, what’s your first guess? hope_pride: C also doesnt sound right for me hmm A: Father and Son, final answer??? hope_pride: yes <lock-in A: “Father and Son”> <wrong answer decrescendo> Oh not right, but that’s okay. Now this is it Hope & Pride, if you select the right choice you will win $125,000 and be only three away from the million, but if you’re wrong you lose $32,000 and take that same amount with you. Pals Forever, Under the Stars, Great Kings of the Past. A HUGE decision here, what do you think? <long pause> Hope & Pride I’m going to have to have your decision, you are down to fifteen seconds. hope_pride: hmm B: “Pals Forever”. Is that your FINAL ANSWER????? hope_pride: gulp <lock-in B: “Pals Forever”> <drumroll… closeup of Hope & Pride and the sweat dripping from his brow> Correct answer flashes: <B: “Pals Forever”> YOU GOT IT! $125,000!!! <thunderous applause and cheers, Hope & Pride is stunned> simbathemighty: Congratulations!!! And that was it for Hope & Pride, as he was out of lifelines andchose to walk away from the $250,000 question. What a great and exciting moment that was for him, and another $125,000 will increase his overall lead, well done. He certainly looks like the man to beat for Season 2! We still had a lot more game to play, however, so we carried on, but the remaining players had a LOT of trouble with the fastest finger so we had to make things a *little* easier for them: Put the following Lion King characters in alphabetical order: A: Shenzi Nathalie: bcad <2.5 seconds> <B: Banzai> That was incredibly close, but it looks like Nath just beat out Amanda there for the right to sit in the Hot Seat! Congrats Nathalie and let’s play for a million! <applause, cut> I was really pulling for Nathalie to do well because she bought me a nice gift in the TLKOB Dutch Cast album and also organized the sending of the multitude of nice messages everyone sent, but unfortunately one tricky $16,000 question did her in… $16,000 A: New York Nathalie: I'm guessing Broadway, so New York, hehe You seem pretty sure about it, Final answer? Nathalie: Broadway is on New York, so yes <lock-in A: New York> Oh shoot, Nath that was a tricky question. The answer was actually <C: Minneapolis> Amanda Cress: C And you were on such a roll! Darn, well another $1,000 to add to your overall winnings, better than nothing, and you’ll be back very soon! <applause> Yes, the show debuted in Minneapolis in August of 1997 before moving to Broadway later that Autumn. Fastest Finger Put the following characters in order according to the number of letters in their name, starting with the fewest: A: Mufasa hope_pride: cdba As predicted: A speed contest! Let’s see who got it right in the fastest time: <C: Ma> Hope & Pride doesn’t count because he’s already played, so that means Amanda, you did it! You’re the winner and the next player in the hot seat. Get ‘er on up here! Amanda Cress: yay! Amanda was the Season 1 champ and she had been “mighty neighborly” as they say down in Texas where she hails from by in large giving the others a chance as she had only won $1,000 on the show thus far, but she planned to take the title back today! Would her plans fall through? $8,000 A: Rafiki I think Amanda just got very lucky… <one of the previous Fastest Finger questions asked for the order of who entered the theatre first out of four characters> Amanda Cress: don't jinx it Tim XD B: Uncle Max, final answer? Amanda Cress: yeah She said it, lock it in! <lock-in B: Uncle Max> <audience is uneasy> I don’t think she read the question all the way
through… Amanda I’m sorry but that is wrong! Amanda Cress: oops XD The correct answer is <D: Ma> The problem was that Ma was not given as one of the 4 choices in the FFQ, so that threw Amanda off. She did double up her winnings from $1,000 to $2,000 though so that’s at least something to smile about! We had time for one more Fastest Finger: Game 5 November 24th, 2006 Fastest Finger Put the following lines in the order they are spoken in The Lion King, starting with the earliest: A: “The monkey’s his uncle?” Dan: dcba This one was kind of tricky, did anyone get it? <D: “Life’s not fair, is it?”> Randy Reighard: crap Stevie, you did it again! Let’s play Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands with Stevie Rader of Los Angeles, California! <applause> Stevie the quiet one has played the game marvelously
so far, netting $97,000 in three appearances thus far in Season 2
and is looking to climb up the leaderboard. She had been playing well
but was still looking for that breakout game – would today be
the day? <cue Stevie’s game> $32,000 A: Scar <pause> After some thought, Stevie’s decided on D. Are you sure about this? If you’re wrong you lose $15,000 you know? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yes, because there's a Timon one. Ahh, makes sense to me. Final answer my friend? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yes <lock-in D: Pumbaa… drumroll> <D: Pumbaa> You got it for $32,000!!! <wild applause> Great job Stevie! Randy Reighard: *claps*claps*claps*claps*claps*claps*claps*claps*claps Oh but Stevie was far from done, she surprised everyone by making minced meat of the $64,000 question about the author of the foreword to “The Art of the Lion King” which was James Earl Jones, and she was set to tackle a VERY tough $125,000 question still with her Double dip and Phone-A-Friend in her possession. Go Stevie go! $125,000 A: Grass Walls Amanda Cress: and the one Russian one too
