Week 7 of Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands Season 2 is now in the books, and once again we have a lot to report on so let’s get started! Dani was up first, the rollover contestant from last week, and he had just won $32,000 to earn his only lifeline, the “Double Dip.” Here he is on his free guess at $64,000: $64,000 A: Discover Dan: yeah, i'll just guess at mastercard since i have
one lol You do have the Double Dip in your back pocket if you care to use it, or you can save it for later perhaps? Dan: i'll save that on the off chance i get this right Final answer? Dan: yeah <lock-in C…> Mastercard… if he’s right he’ll be only 4 away from the million… <wrong answer music> Oh sorry Dani that’s not right… let’s see the right answer: D: American Express So Dani ended up adding $32,000 to his total, but would he add even more by the end of the day? We had a very small turnout this time, unfortunately, but we at WWTBKOTPL persevere here and say the show MUST go on! So onward we marched to the first Fastest Finger Question: Fastest Finger Put the following songs in the order that Zazu sings them in TLK, starting with the earliest: A: “The Morning Report” Audra: abcd Correct Order: A, B, C, D We had three people get it right and in the fastest time was Audra! (Who incidentally was playing even without sound) Audra, you’re in the hot seat once again! Congrats! She ran into a ton of trouble with the $2,000 question on what color grub Simba ate during “Hakuna Matata” in TLK, using both her Poll the Herd and 50:50 lifelines before finally deciding on the right answer of “Pink.” She then got caught up again on the $8,000 question – would she call the right person? Audra: I'm doing awful Oh you’re still in good shape! And I know if anyone can string the correct answers together it’s you – you’ve done it before and can do it again! Let’s take a look at your $8,000 question. $8,000 A: “Midtown Manhattan” Audra: Um C: “The West End”? Audra: Can I phone Dani? XD Sure, interesting choice for the phone-a-friend we have the two money leaders in the game helping each other out. Dani, 30 seconds with Audra and here you go! <cue tick-tock sfx> Dan: it's D Oh, I’m glad you didn’t go with your first instinct there! What's your final answer? TLK’s IMAX release in 2002 and was looking at a big payday after
her horrendous start: Audra! You’ve come alive here, still no lifelines but only one away from guaranteeing yourself $32,000. Ready, it’s all you, here it is. <cue let’s play music> $32,000 A: One by One Audra: Um You can walk with $16,000 if you're not sure about this, that’s always an option Audra: How much time do I have? Would you like your time extension? Ok, time extension granted. 45 seconds left. Audra: If I get it wrong, how much do I lose? $15,000 is at stake on this question. Yes Darkslash called it, the correct answer was indeed <D: Chow Down> Still a very good recovery, and if you asked Audra after burning two lifelines on the second question of the game if she would be happy with $16,000 I think she would have been more than thrilled! XD Yes, the actual line is “The tick birds are always pecking on the elephants…” and a tough loss for Dani, but he still has won $33,000 today including his earlier game, well done! But we still had some players that really wanted to win some money… so to oblige their purpose in attending the game today we did another fastest finger: Put the following direct-to-video Disney films in the order they were released, starting with the earliest: A: The Lion King 1 ½ Zazu and Hyena fan: bcad Oh no, Darkslash is in trouble here, let’s see if Stevie will be in the Hot Seat… Correct Order: B, C, A, D Zazu and Hyena fan: Yay! Stevie will be our next player. <applause, cut> She did very well last week in her first appearance in the Hot Seat, winning $32,000 and was looking to add to it today. $4,000 A: 1 Oh jeez… who writes these questions? Dan: that sounds dirty xD Yes, I’m glad we’re on cable because this kind of stuff would NOT fly for daytime… anyway back to the game! Zazu and Hyena fan: 50:50 Okay Stevie needs the 50:50 here. Computer let’s go! A: 1 Zazu and Hyena fan: b Looks like that helped, B: 2, final answer? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yes. <lock-in B: 2> Rafiki’s stick (I should hope) has TWO gourds attached to it! You just won $4,000! <audience is ROTFL> Unfortunately for Stevie after all the fun we had with that question it came to a crashing end as she mistakenly thought that Rafiki’s revelation that Simba was alive came after Shadowland instead of “Endless Night,” but another $1,000 added to her total is not too shabby. <applause> And with Stevie busting out of the game quickly, we still miraculously had a little time left for Darkslash! Yes, he was the only one left that hadn’t played and as you all know we go until that fog horn alarm sounds, so he was finally able to make an appearance in the Seat. It’s been a long time coming for our friend now stationed in Houston (for school that is) as he been ever so close on the Fastest Finger multiple times this season. Darkslash, let’s go for the million bucks, let’s play Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands! <cue let’s play music> $1,000 A: Rhyme darkslash1: B, final And just like that he wrapped up his first $1,000 of the season, easy money. But the $4,000 question proved much more tricky… $4,000 A: Yellow darkslash1: oh god Gotta roll that "r"… okay herrrrrrd, Darkslash needs your help here, what color was the bug? Please vote now. A: 25% B: 50% C: 0% D: 25% Oh no… very spread out there, no conclusive evidence. 50% said B, but need I remind you we have a very small herd today. Two more lifelines if you want to narrow it down or ask someone in particular… darkslash1: I'm going to go with B, blue, final Darkslash wastes no time… <lock-in B… wrong answer music> Ah shoot. You know that bug was actually A: Yellow? darkslash1: when is this? It was when cub Kiara runs off, Pumbaa snarfs up a bug, chews it up and spits it out, and Timon says, “You always take one and then you put it back – it drives me crazy!” Yes, that bug was yellow. Kind of a rough day today on many parts, but let’s still take time to congratulate our winners today: Dani, $33,000 <applause> And I did say I have a couple of announcements to make – first off that the next show will be October 15th (there will NOT be a show next Sunday) and from now on every two weeks, so October 29th and so on, and also that one of the shows on the 15th will be a “Newcomers game” which means that the only players eligible to play the Fastest Finger will be those that haven’t made it into the hot seat before. So if you know anyone that would be interested in playing WWTBKOTPL, be sure to tell them to show up on the 15th and play for some big money and TLK prizes! Of course all of the other games will be available for everyone, and today we were able to get 5 games in, another first for the show.
