Season 2 Week 9
We’re back once again for the review of Week 9, WWTBKOTPL-style! Another nice turnout today, and a lot of players got a chance to play this time around. Who won what? Let’s recap the action: (Darkslash did not show up today to start off the show as planned, so hopefully he will be back next show to go for $32,000) We have 9 contestants today that joined us “virtually” from all over the world, and they are: Lunar Cat, New Jersey <applause> Good luck to all of you, here is the first fastest finger question of the day: Fastest Finger Put the following Adult Simba lines from TLKOB in the order he says them, starting with the earliest: A: “What if you stopped talking and started walking” This Land Neale: dcba Time’s up, lets see who got it right in the fastest time: Correct Order: A, D, C, B And it was Nathalie, who JUST got her answer in by the buzzer, way to go Nath! You’ll be our first player. <applause> Nathalie: what ?? Would I lie to you??? That was a guess wasn’t it! Nathalie: it sure was Nathalie was making her third appearance of the season but… let’s just say it didn’t go as planned. Here was her early and fortunate demise… $2,000 A: Heavy, tragic Nathalie: I think A Okay, but if you’re not sure you might want to consider a lifeline? Nathalie: I always use them so soon, lol Okay Nath, final answer? Nathalie: yes <Lock-in A, audience is uneasy> Dan: it's C Yes, the correct answer was indeed C: Deep, personal. Wow, not the way we wanted that to go at all, sorry about that. Still another $1,000 Nathalie, better than nothing. <applause> We still have a lot of players waiting for their chance, here’s the next question: simbathemighty: offer me that beer Fastest Finger Put the following characters in the order they first speak during TLK, starting with the earliest: A: Shenzi Hope & Pride: dabc <4.3 seconds> Audra: Doh Wow, some real fast fingers on this one, let’s see who got it right! Correct Order: D, A, B, C And Tal! You got it buddy in only four seconds, first time to the show and he made it! <wild applause> Tal, ready to go for a million bucks? Hope & Pride: yeah Let’s play! <cut> Truly amazing, very rarely do contestants make it into the Hot Seat during their first show, but Tal showed that he had what it took. Let’s see how he did: Ok Tal, going for $4,000, nine more to the million! $4,000 A: Cubist Hope & Pride: hmm, dont know TLK 1 1/2 that well Maybe time for a lifeline? <pause> Hope & Pride: hmm i think its C After a little thought… narrowed it down to C: Realist. Final answer buddy? Hope & Pride: yes <lock-in C… drumroll> Got it for $4,000! Hope & Pride: yay After breezing through the $8,000 question, Tad ran into a tough $16,000 stumper and called on the audience for help, would they come through for him? $16,000 A: Carnivore Hope & Pride: aww, only seen it once Well Tal, there are quite a few here in this audience that have seen TLKOB, want to try poll the herd? Hope & Pride: yeah ill ask the herd Oh wow, bet that was a nice trip. Herd, please vote A, B, C or D. What did Timon call Simba? Hope & Pride: i saw it like a month ago, cant believe i already forgot A: 33% B: 22% C: 22% D: 22% <audience awws> Wow, really spread out with no clear majority. 33% said “Carnivore” while the rest was dead even. gut… Oh man! Sorry Tal, that was wrong. It was actually B: Hairball. Hope & Pride: aww But still a nice $1,000 and you’re on the leaderboard! Great job just to make it here on your first show my friend. You’ll be back! <applause> Next up was Lunarcat, who made a few appearances last season made into to the Hot Seat for the first time in Season 2! She hails from good old New Jersey won the next fastest finger, and Lunarcat (who is definitely not a he as I repeatedly referred to her during the telecast - I apologize profusely once again!) got off to a great start including a very smart lifeline use on the $8,000 question. Let’s watch the cat do her thang! <roll tape> $8,000 A: Slightly to the left lunarcat1214 Ellis: ooh... Sure thing. Computer, please take away two of those wrong answers, leaving one wrong answer and the correct one for Lunar! You got it for $8,000 WELL DONE!! <applause> And that is what Lunar ended up taking away from the game as she and Stu were not able to decide on the correct answer of “major-dumbo” for what exactly Shenzi called Zazu in The Lion King on Broadway. Stu said “major-dimwit” and Lunar correctly decided to leave with the $8,000 she had earned. Well done Lunarcat, and hopefully we’ll be see you and your FEMALE beauty a lot more the season. <lunarcat runs onstage and slaps Tim, wild applause> Ouch, well I guess I kind of deserved it… people were giving me clues the whole time she was playing but I was so into the game I just passed over them. Oh well, $8,000 is $8,000! We were zipping along through our games so we went right on to the next question, make that next FOUR questions as we had major difficulties finding a Fastest-Finger winner, and finally I had to take drastic measures: Okay guys and gals, if nobody gets THIS one right, I will have to do something about it and it won’t be pretty! She made quick work of the early part of the game, and was soon looking at the $16,000 question: $16,000 A: Antelope Oh wow, Stevie you got very fortunate on this one, you sure lucked out! (One of the many replacement Fastest finger questions we did had to do with this exact topic, just pure luck of the draw for Stevie) Zazu and Hyena fan: c Rhinoceros appeared first, final answer? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yeah. <lock-in C> <wild applause> Yes we all know that is right! $16,000! Good job Stevie! Zazu and Hyena fan: Thanks. We took a short pause to get ready for the big $32,000 question, I told Stevie that we had not had any big winners so far on the show and we were looking for a $32,000 winner, would she be the one? $32,000 A: “Never go swimming without a buddy” <long pause> Zazu and Hyena fan: Phone a friend. Okay, this is a critical juncture of the game. Stevie, who do you think knows TLK 1 ½ enough to help you out? Zazu and Hyena fan: twilightlks twilightlks: wah Wake up Stu! D Stu said he’s pretty sure it’s D. What do you think? Zazu and Hyena fan: 50/50 Stevie’s going to play it safe… computer, randomly remove two of those answers! A: “Never go swimming without a buddy” Oh my… wow tremendous good luck there to eliminate D, so Stu was wrong. Zazu and Hyena fan: a “Never go swimming without a buddy.” Sure about that one? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yeah. Sure enough to make it your final answer for $32,000????? We finally have a big $32,000 winner today, but let’s not stop now! Onward for $64,000, and now you have the Double Dip too which will probably be very helpful. Stevie, you got two shots at it, now think about this, which of those characters would be LEAST likely to be included in the Pride Lands level of Kingdom Hearts II? Zazu and Hyena fan: B You’re going with B, Sarabi for your first guess. Final? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yeah. <lock-in B… wrong answer music> No, that’s okay though because you have one more guess. This is it – if you get it wrong you leave with $32,000, but if you guess right it’s $64,000 in your pocket and a chance at $125,000, a lot riding on this answer Stevie! Ed… Rafiki… or Zazu??? Zazu and Hyena fan: d Zazu is the choice. Final answer for $64,000? Zazu and Hyena fan: Yes. <lock-in D… long drumroll… Stevie looks on nervously…> Virtually every major TLK character was represented in Kingdom Hearts II… but Zazu was NOT there! Stevie rightfully walked away from the $125,000 question and put together her finest performance ever on the show, winning a cool $64,000 with a little luck and a lot of skill. Fine job today Stevie! <applause> After taking a quick vote I found that most everyone in the audience wanted to play another game, and of course I was happy to oblige! Audra: Hmm, yeah <lock-in A... drumroll> She didn’t seem too sure about it at all when the question came up… <A: Anteater> Absolutely correct for $8,000! <applause> Audra: Oh good heh That was a pretty tough detail to remember, I must say I’ve very impressed! Audra: Thanks ^^ But unfortunately luck did not shine on her during the $16,000 question… Ok buddy, here it is for $16,000 only seven away from the jackpot! B: 3 Ahh, once again 50:50 saves the day, proves that it is not in fact D:5. Audra: Oh Now what do you do??? Audra: I'm still not really sure... Well you do have your last lifeline, the “Phone-A-Friend” Audra: Um well I'll ask STM then lol Any particular reason? Audra: Well he made that video XP Ahh, yes and he has helped people before on TLK 1 ½ questions, let’s see if your honey can come through once again!
