Welcome to the review of Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands! We had another great show today, though we had a smaller turnout, it was filled with exciting moments and lots of money flying around which is what we love to see around here! Let’s get to the action. <Tim> Here in week two we have seven players joining us from all over the world, and they are: <applause, cheers throughout> Tal Rundstein, Israel Get those last minute thumb stretches in because here’s your first Fastest Finger question!

Lucy Parker: All those songs suck, lolz Looks like Tara got it! King_Simba will be first up in the hot seat! <applause> Tara didn’t play at all last season, but had a fine season 1 of Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands. Would the long delay between Hot Seat appearances slow her down? I think not! She barreled through the early part of the game and wisely using her 50:50 lifeline on the $8,000 question to determine that Be Prepared was not on the Disneymania 1 CD. Finally the 50:50 actually helped someone! Tara was originally asked a $32,000 question that included the line “Which of these characters was the last to speak,” which was very vague and misunderstood by nearly everyone, including Tara, – I intended the question to mean “which of the characters is the last to say their first line,” so I made an executive decision to throw the question out and give her a new $32,000 question. Here she is going for $32,000 and the coveted Double Dip lifeline: <cue Tara’s $32,000 question, cheers and applause> Tara, you’re really playing great right now, so let’s put that last question behind us and focus now on your new $32,000 question <cue “let’s play music and lights> $32,000 A: Hornbill Daniel Patton: TLKoB ¬_¬ Ok herd, Tara needs your help. Ouch Tara, not too decisive there. “Hornbill” and “Kielbasa” are tied for the lead with a vote for Zebra and Warthog as well… Tara: This is difficult =/ Tara Richardson: Phone a friend Ok Tara’s going to use another lifeline, who would you like to phone? So Tara’s first shot in the hot seat since Season 1 was good for $64,000, which put her in first place in the overall standings! Great job Tara, aka King_Simba from Dorcester! <applause> Who would be next? Ok ladies and gentlemen, take a gander at this, the second Fastest Finger question – and it’s a Pick Four! Fastest Finger Out of the following seven TLK characters, pick the four that are seen both as cubs and adult lions in the TLK movie trilogy: A: Kovu Daniel Patton: fade Correct Answers: Any order is good for the Pick Four, so “FADE” will work! Dani will be in the hot seat! <applause for Dani> Daniel Patton: Boshty! Ahh a little luck o’ the Irish tonight for Dani (hopefully he’s not too drunk) – Dani played extremely well last season making $285,000 in seven hot seat appearances, and I know he wants to get off to a fast start in Season 3. Ready to play Dani? Daniel Patton: Sure am Let’s play Who Wants to be King of the Pride Lands! <cue let’s play music> <cut> Dani was another who hadn’t been in the hot seat since midway through season 2, but he was playing like a pro. He used the 50:50 to narrow down his options on the $8,000 question about TLK on Broadway, and showed the audience a little of his daredevil side (not unlike another Daniel who used to play our game) on the $16,000 question: <cue Dani’s $16,000 question> $16,000 A: A sword Daniel Patton: Um, I vaguely remember this scene xD <pause> You can phone someone or poll the herd if you want Dani… Daniel Patton: I'll go for C Whoa, he’s going for it! C: A stake… confident in that one? Daniel Patton: No, but I'll go anyway Dani’s a gamblin’ man… Gonna make it your final? Daniel Patton: Yeah <Lock in C: Stake> <pause, camera close up of Dani> For $16,000 on nothing more than an educated guess…
Stake was right! $16,000!!! <roaring applause, cut> What a guess! But would his careless side get him in trouble? <cue Dani’s $64,000 question> Dani’s in really great shape now, only 5 away from the million and three lifelines! Now the game gets tough… so proceed with caution my friend! Here it is for $64,000. $64,000 A: 8 Daniel Patton: B So much for caution! Another quick answer, B: 4. It’s a free guess, but you still have 3 lifelines! Gonna save them I take it… Daniel Patton: Yeah Final answer? <lock in B: 4> :eek: <to be continued>
Oh no Dani! Sorry, that’s not right. <audience awws> Tara: Gah, unlucky Tara Richardson: =/ Yes, that was a tough one, and a particularly heartbreaking finish to a very well-played game as Dani departs with three lifelines left on the table. But that kind of risk-taker is exactly the type who may some day go all the way on WWTBKOTPL and win it all, but still $32,000 is a fine haul for him and I know he’ll be back. Let’s hear it for Dani! <cheers and applause> After the question Dani discovered that he actually had a poster of the meerkats in question right BEHIND him in his room, but he forgot it was there! What a lucky break that would have been had he remembered, but it was not to be. So we had two $32,000 winners already and time for more… the hot seat was smoldering tonight, who would be next? <cue 3rd FF question> Put the following characters in order according to height as an animated character, starting with the tallest: hope_pride: interesting <cue FF think music> A: Pumbaa hope_pride: bacd <buzz-buzz> Well this looks great for Tal, either he will be in the hot seat or nobody will be in the hot seat, let’s see those answers! Count it! $8,000! <wild applause> Yeah Tal! Usually TLKOB spells doom for our players, but it’s good to be lucky sometimes. And you still haven’t needed a lifeline, let’s see if he needs one on the $16,000 question! $16,000 A: “Where did you come from?” hope_pride: oh wow You got it. One full minute on the clock now for you to ponder this question. <long pause> hope_pride: well im sure its not c Well that was quite a logical sequence of events going through your head there, probably eliminated two answers so here comes the 50:50. Computer, please take away two of the wrong answers, leaving Tal the last wrong answer and the correct one! hope_pride: leave us with c B: “What are you doing here?” Interesting, C is gone, but D, which you said is probably not, remains. Dang it! 50:50 dooms yet another player. Let’s see the correct answer: ]<D: “When did you get here?”> simbathemighty: =( sorry Yep, Simba says the line first, “What are you doing here,” to which Nala retorts, “What do you mean ‘What am I doing here,’ what are YOU doing here?” hope_pride: right Another tough break for Tal, but if its any consolation, he doubled his total to $2,000, so at this rate he’ll only have to make 998 more Hot Seat appearances before bringing home the bacon! (or maybe chicken, since bacon is considered an unclean food in Israel) Anyways, we’ll definitely be seeing him back in the upcoming weeks. <applause> And we were just about out of time but we had just enough time for STM to win the final Fastest Finger question and get into the hot seat… and he actually made it to the $8,000 question with one lifeline left, his 50:50. We will pick up his game on our next show, which leads me to make one very important announcement – From now on games will be scheduled [b]every two weeks with games on both Saturday and Sunday at the regular time of 2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern and 10pm GMT[/b]. This change was meant to accommodate players that cannot attend on Sundays. If you can attend both games, PLEASE do so as this will ensure that we have enough players to run games on both days. Of course, you will be eligible to appear once on both Saturday and Sunday’s shows, so attending both is a great way to boost your place in the standings! So that would make are next game(s) on Saturday, February 2nd and Sunday, February 3rd, and I hope to see you all there, including STM who is currently 8 questions away from the million!
